Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you both on your engagement and forthcoming marriage and thank you for expressing an interest in holding your special day here with us at Maenan Abbey.

Here at the Abbey we go to great lengths to ensure that every detail of your day is perfect.  You can be assured of the personal attention of our experienced and helpful team through every stage of planning.

Our experienced team are only too happy to offer any help or suggestions to assist you with your planning, whether it be finding a harpist, suggesting a florist or arranging a horse and carriage.

The Maenan Abbey is a charming 3 star hotel situated in Maenan near Llanrwst. We are within easy access of the A55 coastal expressway and are close to the spectacular Snowdonia national park.

Built as a gentleman's residence in 1850 in the heart of north Wales, The hotel stands on the original site of the 13th century Cistercian monastery. The hotel is approached by an impressive pillared entrance and sweeping drive complimented by a superb landscaped garden set against the beautiful backdrop of the Snowdonia foot hills.

The hotel has a grand entrance hall with a magnificent galleried Victorian staircase and in winter, a blazing log fire. Whatever the time of year, Maenan Abbey makes the ideal background for your special photos.

We have 14 bedrooms including our bridal suite and three family suites that each have two bedrooms. We also have 2 bars with a lounge area.

Enclosed you will find our 2024  range of delicious menus, buffets and beverages. We would like to emphasise that our menus are for guidance only, please feel free to make your own suggestions. Our Chef is renowned for his exquisite food and presentation.

Civil Marriage Ceremony:

We do have a civil Ceremony Licence and would recommend a maximum of 80 guests. The room hire charge for a civil Ceremony is £150.00.

 

Booking and Deposits:

We would be delighted to hold a date for your special day on a provisional basis whilst you make your arrangements. We can hold your selected date for 28 days. At the point of confirming your booking we require a deposit of £500 to secure your booking. Unfortunately deposits are non-refundable.

 Room Arrangements:

Once your booking is confirmed, we will place all 14 bedrooms on provisional hold for your guests.

 Menus:

From a range of fresh local produce and meats, we ask you to pick one choice per course to make up a set menu for your Wedding; however, if any of your guests have any dietary requirements we will be more than happy to offer an alternative. A vegetarian option is, of course, always available for pre ordering. Children’s dishes are also available, if you have any preferences please ask.

Entertainment:

We can recommend an evening disco for you; the charge will be £150.00. We can also recommend harpists, bands and singers if you should so require.

 Music is allowed until midnight. Residents are also welcome to relax in the comfort of our bars which are open until the same time.

 

 Additional Services.

We have a range of additional services available to help personalise your day. Chair covers and colour matched table linens can be arranged. We also have our own sweet cart available.

Terms and Conditions

 

Accommodation

Upon confirmation of your booking, all bedrooms will be reserved for your party. The rooming list at the back of this pack should be used to notify us of your accommodation requirements and should be returned to us no less than 28 days in advance.

Any changes made within this period will remain chargeable.

 

Guest Numbers

We request notification of guest numbers as early as possible. Final numbers should be notified to us 7 days in advance. Any changes made within 7 days will remain chargeable.

 

Taxis

Taxis should be arranged for no later than 12.15. We respectfully request that guests keep noise to a minimum whilst leaving the premises to ensure that any inconvenience caused to our neighbours is kept to a minimum.

Confetti 

We kindly ask guests to refrain from using confetti either inside the hotel or close to the hotel entrance. Confetti may be used either on the lawn or close to the honeysuckle arch. If confetti is used in or near the hotel entrance, we regret to inform you a cleaning charge of £25 will be made in order to cover the additional cleaning.

Deposits

Regrettably deposits are non-refundable. Availability should be confirmed with the church or registrar prior to payment of deposit.

Late Bar

The public bar closes strictly at midnight. A late bar is available by prior arrangement for residents only providing all non-residents have departed the hotel by 12.15am. The bar will re-open at 12.15am and remain open until 2.00am. The cost of this service is £100 and we stress that this must be arranged in advance. Should circumstances dictate then the management have the right to close the bar at any point.
